Documents You Must Have In Order To File Bankruptcy

  • Drivers license and social security card
  • Bank account statements on all accounts for last 3 months
  • 401K plan, IRA, stock or mutual fund account statements
  • Income tax returns for the last two years and W2's and 1099's
  • Pay stubs/proof of social security or disability payments for the last six months for both client and spouse
  • Monthly profit and loss statements (if you're self-employed) for the last six months
  • All credit card statements, medical bills, judgments, garnishments, notcie of sheriff sale, etc.
  • Real estate property statement
  • Real estate property monthly mortgage/equity loan statements
  • Automobile/motorcycle/trailer/etc. monthly payment statements
  • Titles to all autos, motorcycles, RVS campers, boats, etc.
  • All life insurance policies
  • Apartment/house lease
  • Child support arears statements/name & address of recipient
  • Judgments of divorce
  • Prior bankruptcy case number and information

For Chapter 7 Cases Only

  • Recorded mortgage(s) to real estate. These douments can be obtained only from the register of deeds office in your county.
  • Recorded deed to all real etstate. This document can be obtained only from the register of deeds office in your county.
